Some OEM manufacturers (Dell, Compaq, HP, etc etc) do not supply a CD, or supply their own system recovery/restore CD's, but you should still get a COA (Certificate of Authenticity). Click here for more info

What a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) should look like
All legal OEM computers should have a COA (Certificate of Authenticity), this is usually located on the side, back or bottom of your computer, if you don't have one then approach the manufacturer and ask for it.
